This patient in her 70's, had loose skin, and muscle relaxation, under the chin as well as jowl formation along the jaw line. She had a neck lift as part of a facelift, along with upper and lower eyelid procedures and a deep chemical peel.
The 'turkey neck' forms as the result of relaxation of the muscles under the chin and the neck, as well as fat accumulation in the area.
Correction is accomplished by removing the fat with liposuction, and bringing the sagging muscle edges together under the skin; all done through a small opening less than an inch across.
The result is a smooth youthful neck.
